The Daily Word

Guess the word from Scripture in six tries.

Every day The Daily Word hides one word drawn straight from Scripture — a name, a place, a virtue, a promise. You get six guesses to find it. After each guess the tiles tell you which letters are in the word and which are in the right spot. Solve it, keep your streak alive, and come back tomorrow for a new word.

Getting Started

How to Play

  1. Type any valid word with the same number of letters as today’s hidden word and press Enter.

  2. Watch the tiles: a gold tile means the letter is in the word and in the right position; a lighter tile means the letter is in the word but somewhere else; a dark tile means the letter is not in the word at all.

  3. Use what you learn from each guess to narrow down the next one — you have six tries in total.

  4. Solve the word to finish the day’s puzzle, see the verse it comes from, and extend your streak.

Tips & Strategy

Open with vowel-rich guesses

Words like ARISE or ADORE test three or more vowels at once, which quickly reveals the shape of the hidden word. Many Bible words lean on A and E far more than I or U.

Think in Bible vocabulary

The answer always comes from Scripture, so let that steer you. Names (MOSES, DAVID), places (SINAI, JUDEA), and virtues (FAITH, GRACE, MERCY) show up far more often than everyday dictionary words.

Don’t waste confirmed letters

Once a letter turns gold, keep it locked in place for every following guess. Spend your remaining letters exploring the unknown positions instead of re-testing what you already know.

Watch for repeated letters

Biblical words double letters more than you’d expect — think MANNA or ABBA. If four letters are confirmed and nothing fits, try repeating one you’ve already placed.

Scripture Spotlight

The Word behind the words

Scripture has a lot to say about single words — spoken, written, and treasured. The psalmist hid God’s word in his heart; Proverbs compares the right word at the right time to apples of gold. The Daily Word borrows that spirit: one word a day, small enough to carry with you, worth turning over in your mind long after the puzzle is solved.

Each day’s answer is pulled from the people, places, and promises of the Bible, and once you solve it you’ll see the verse it lives in. Over a few weeks of daily play you’ll be surprised how much geography, genealogy, and vocabulary quietly sticks.

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.

Psalm 119:11

Like apples of gold in settings of silver is a ruling rightly given.

Proverbs 25:11

Frequently Asked Questions

When does a new Daily Word puzzle come out?

A new word is published every day at midnight UTC — the same moment for every player worldwide, so everyone is solving the same word on the same day.

Are the answers always found in the Bible?

Yes. Every answer is a word that appears in Scripture or names someone or somewhere from it — people, places, books, virtues, and key terms from well-known passages.

What happens if I don’t solve the word in six guesses?

The word is revealed along with the verse it comes from, so you still walk away having learned something. Your daily streak resets, but a new puzzle arrives tomorrow.

Is The Daily Word free to play?

Completely free, no account needed. The game is supported by the ads on this page, which keep every TriviaPew game free for everyone.
