Which Old Testament prophet was swallowed by a great fish?

God called Jonah to preach repentance to the city of Nineveh, but Jonah fled in the opposite direction by boarding a ship to Tarshish. God sent a violent storm, and the sailors threw Jonah overboard at his own request. God then provided a great fish to swallow Jonah, where he spent three days and three nights before being vomited onto dry land.

We often tell this story as if the fish were the punishment. But look again — the fish was the rescue. Jonah was drowning in the open sea after running from God's call, and God sent something to save him. It just didn't look like salvation from the inside.
