The Answer
On the night Jesus was arrested, Peter denied knowing Him three times — exactly as Jesus had predicted. After the rooster crowed, Peter remembered Jesus' words and wept bitterly.
"The Lord turned and looked straight at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him… And he went outside and wept bitterly."
— Luke 22:61-62
Today's Devotion
✦Peter did not fail because he lacked love for Jesus. He failed because he was afraid. Fear and love can live in the same heart, and on that terrible night, fear won.
But here is what matters: the story did not end at the rooster's crow. After the resurrection, Jesus sought Peter out specifically. He cooked him breakfast on the beach. He asked him three times — once for each denial — "Do you love me?" And with each answer, Jesus restored him.
Three denials. Three restorations. That is the math of grace. If you have failed the person you love, if you have crumbled under pressure, if the rooster has crowed in your life — look for Jesus on the shore. He is not there to condemn you. He is there to restore you.
