How many times did Israel march around Jericho on the seventh day?

The Answer
For six days Israel marched around Jericho once a day, but on the seventh day they circled the city seven times. Then the priests sounded the trumpets, the people gave a loud shout, and the walls collapsed. The victory came through obedience, not siege weapons.
"On the seventh day, they got up at daybreak and marched around the city seven times in the same manner, except that on that day they circled the city seven times."
— Joshua 6:15
Today's Devotion
✦Imagine the sixth lap on the seventh day. Feet aching, walls still standing, enemies watching from the ramparts. Nothing about the strategy made military sense — and nothing visible had changed since day one.
That is what obedience often feels like from the inside: repetitive, unimpressive, and apparently ineffective. But God was counting laps even when the walls were not moving.
Keep praying for that child. Keep showing up to that hard ministry. Keep forgiving that person. Walls that have stood for years can fall in a single shout — and every quiet lap you walk matters to God.
