The Answer
Exodus describes manna as white like coriander seed, tasting like wafers made with honey. God provided it every morning for the Israelites throughout their forty years in the wilderness. They were told to gather only what they needed for each day, learning daily dependence on God.
"The people of Israel called the bread manna. It was white like coriander seed and tasted like wafers made with honey."
— Exodus 16:31
Today's Devotion
✦The word 'manna' comes from the question the Israelites asked when they first saw it: 'What is it?' God's provision arrived in a form they did not recognize — and He kept sending it, morning after morning, for forty years.
Manna came with one rule: gather today's portion today. Hoarded manna spoiled. God was teaching His people a rhythm we still resist — daily bread, daily trust, daily grace.
You do not have tomorrow's strength yet because you do not need it yet. When tomorrow comes, the manna will be on the ground. Today, gather what today requires and rest.
